New Windsor is a town in Orange County, New York, United States. The population of the town is estimated at 24,966.

Some historical sites include the Last Encampment of the Continental Army hut sites owned by the Town of New Windsor, the temple site is operated by the State of New York, known as the New Windsor Cantonment. Located there is the Mountainville Hut, believed to be a survivor from the encampment. Across from the New Windsor Cantonment is the new National Purple Heart Hall of Fame. A tribute to those 1.7 million Purple Heart recipients who were wounded or killed in combat. The  National Purple Heart Hall of Fame opened November 10th, 2006 and is located just 10 miles north of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Another is Knox's Headquarters, a 1754 stone house built by noted stone mason William Bull, used for John Ellison off Forge Hill Road and Edmonston House, a 1755 stone house located on Route 94 built by James Edmondston to replace his log cabin.

Stewart International Airport is located 60 miles north of New York City, at the intersection of two major interstate highways, Interstate 84 which runs east to west, and the New York State Thruway I-87, which runs north to south. The new I-84/International Boulevard Interchange leads to Stewart's new main entrance which is located in New Windsor. Other commuting options include the Short Line Buses, Metro-North Transit and NJ Transit.
